Managing Safe Work / Safety Policies – Contractor Safety

The documents below describe the safety practices and procedures that Chevron Fuels and Lubricants requires to be followed as “minimum” requirements and to be observed by employees, contractors, and contract administrative personnel when preparing to perform and performing work within the purpose and scope of the relevant document when performing work for Chevron Fuels and Lubricants.

The details of the procedures below are not intended to be all inclusive or exhaustive, but set forth minimum guidelines that are to be used. Neither are the Safe Work Practices linked below intended to in any way limit or be a substitute for the use of field judgment when conditions and circumstances reasonably dictate that additional safety measures and precautions should be employed to ensure the safe performance of Company work.

Contractor specific procedures that provide the same or greater level of safety precaution and protection, and the same level of regulatory compliance are acceptable for use by the contractor company.

Awareness training material is available to be used as necessary on Chevron Fuels and Lubricants Safety Policies and Safe Work Practices, refer to the Awareness Plus Training website.

Contractors working for Maintenance and Construction (M&C) at retail facilities in the United States and Canada who are authorized to Remote-Permit should use the procedures and training linked on the M&C Remote Permitting Contractor's Page.

Upon completion of the training and review of the safety policies and standards, contractors are required to provide a copy of the MSW acknowledgement form to Chevron prior to beginning of work.
